This political cartoon is about the Purchase of Alaska. I know because there is a polar bear and it says snow county in the background. The cartoonist’s message on this cartoon is that Alaska was just a big ice ball and useless. Which was later disproven because of the discovery of gold, timber, and oil. People at that time thought of the purchase very negatively because what they thought of it was just a ice block. Which was later disproven because of the discovery of gold, timber, and oil. One of the techniques the cartoonist uses is labeling because of the mountain in the background labeled vote often and vote early. Symbolism because Lincoln is standing in front of the polar bear, and Lincoln died in 1965 and this was in 1967.Yes this cartoon supports my position on imperialism because I am against imperialism. People should have a way of expressing themselves in their own way.
