Panama Canal 2
This cartoon is about the Panama canal because it says Panama on the cart and the Panama Canal was in Panama. Also Roosevelt-who was a extreme supporter of the Panama Canal- is riding the cart. The cartoonist's message on this issue is that Roosevelt was going to go to extreme measures for the canal. He was very unconstitutional while trying to get the panama canal project on track. Some opinions in the US were negative because Roosevelt running over all kinds of laws to get the canal running. Other opinions in the US were positive because they thought of the canal as a way to protect America's Pacific empire. One of the techniques used by the cartoonist in this cartoon is symbolism because an elephant is running the cart and the an elephant is the republican symbol, at the time Roosevelt was the republican president at the time. Another technique used by the cartoonist was labeling, i know because the cart is labeled "Panama or Bust" and their are many hurdles labeled precedent, Colombian protest or international law. No this cartoon does not support my position on imperialism because in the article Roosevelt is ignoring all laws and just doing what he wants, and what he wants is the Panama canal to happen. The things he is doing are very unconstitutional.
Panama Canal 1
This political cartoon is about the Panama Canal. I know because it says the Panama Canal in the background. The cartoonist's message on this issue is that Teddy Roosevelt had gone to many extremes to make the Panama Canal happen. Many extremes that were unconstitutional like when Columbia didn't want to give US the Isthmus of Panama, Roosevelt went to Panama and convinced them to start a revolution against Columbia. Some opinions in the US were positive because they thought of this as a way to protect America's Pacific empire. Their were other opinions in the US that were negative toward the issue like going behind Columbia's back and convincing Panama to start a revolution was unconstitutional. One of the techniques the cartoonist used was exaggeration because I don't think President roosevelt was really that tall. Another technique used was labeling because the land behind Roosevelt is labeled Panama Canal. No this cartoon does not support my opinion on imperialism because this cartoon is showing that going behind Columbia's back and convincing Panama to start a revolution was unconstitutional. granted that Columbia shouldn't be ruling Panama in the first place but they were so America should have backed off.
Spanish American War
This political cartoon is about the Spanish American War. I know because the dogs are labeled army and navy and the guys hat is labeled Spain. The cartoonist's message on this issue is that President Mckinley is going all out on spain with the army and navy. President Mckinley was going to do whatever to get Cuba. The opinions in America were positive because the way Spain was treating Cuba was horrible and Us was going to drive Spain out of Cuba. The opinions in Cuba were really good too because America would finally end the way Spain was treating them. One of the techniques the cartoonist used was labeling, I know because the dogs are labeled army and navy and the doghouse is labeled Tampa. Another technique the cartoonist used was symbolism because the army and navy are dogs.Yes this cartoon supports my opinion on imperialism because Us are driving the Spanish out from Cuba and that is what I want. Countries should have a way of expressing themselves in their own unique way.

The Roosevelt Corollary
This political cartoon is about the Roosevelt Corollary. I know because there is a huge cannon which says monroe doctrine and the Roosevelt Corollary was created from the monroe doctrine. The cartoonist's message on this is issue is that no eastern hemisphere could at any cost try to rule over some country in the western hemisphere or the US was ready to take measures. I know because England was trying to claim the Republic of Santo Domingo in the cartoon and Roosevelt is standing there with a cannon pointed at England's head. Opinions in the west were probably positive because now no other country in the eastern hemisphere could try to take control of a country in the western hemisphere. Opinions in the eastern hemisphere were probably the opposite because now entering the western hemisphere to try to rule a country was now impossible because of the roosevelt corollary. On of the techniques the cartoonist used was labeling because the cannon is labeled monroe doctrine and the little island is labeled Republic Of Santo Domingo. Another technique that was used was exaggeration because I don't think a cannon on a ship is usually that big. Yes this cartoon supports my position on imperialism because now with US not letting any of the countries in the eastern hemisphere rule over the countries in the western hemisphere. I think that's a good start on not ruling over any countries at all.

Annexation Of Hawaii
This political cartoon is about he annexation of Hawaii. I know because Uncle Sam is carrying a sausage in his back pocket and a dog following who is labeled Japan. The cartoonist’s message is that Japan was also interested in Japan while America was annexing Hawaii. But Japan didn’t get a chance to get Hawaii because America took it. Other opinions were positive because Americans now had another territory ruled by them. Hawaiian’s didn’t like this at all because another nations just came in and took their country over. One of the techniques the cartoonist used was labeling because the sausage is labeled Hawaii and the dog is labeled Japan. Symbolism because Japan is a dog following Uncle Sam who has a sausage in his back pocket. No this cartoon does not support my position on imperialism. America can’t just go around and start taking over other nations.
